Time to Awaken: Spring Urban Retreat

April 6-7, 2019
Yoga House, Toronto, Ontario

As we tiptoe into the first days of spring, do you find yourself longing to feel more alive? Are your body, mind, and creative spirit yearning to shake off the cobwebs of winter? Join yoga instructor Joshua Lewis and author Trevor Corkum for Time to Awaken, an intimate two-day urban retreat in east end Toronto. In a quiet, light-filled studio bordering onto a protected ravine, we’ll engage in revitalizing yoga, deep meditative practice, and a range of reflective writing practises designed to nourish your body and sharpen your sensory awareness. While honouring the quiet rhythms of late winter, we’ll embrace the energetic calling of spring, leaving you anchored in body and mind. With special musical guest.

No prior yoga or writing experience necessary. All equipment will be provided. Our workshop location is TTC accessible—just a short walk south from Coxwell or Woodbine stations.

Please note this is a non-residential urban retreat. Out of town participants will be responsible for their own accommodation.

I’m deeply grateful to all of you and for your continued support. This will be my third year in a row offering this restorative weekend at Shanti and it has become a very special weekend of practice that I love guiding.

Future Retreat Survey!

Pssst: Want to help me decide where to lead my next retreat?

I would love your input as I set in motion the planning for upcoming retreats in 2018/2019/2020. I have some ideas but I would love to know where you would like to go! Please take a moment to fill out this short survey – your time and suggestions are much appreciated!Give your input on where I should lead my next retreat!

The countdown is on!

In just over a month, we will be settling in for A Seacoast Yoga and Culinary Retreat on Prince Edward Island. We can’t wait to be driving the red sand roads of PEI, taking deep gulps of the sea salted ocean air and stopping for roadside lobster rolls, once again. We also can’t wait to be back at the Inn at Spry Point – the ideal place to recoup, restore and indulge in yoga practice and meditation. This is going to be an amazing way to wrap up the summer before September begins.

We’ve got two PEI prizes to give away – Chef Michael Smith’s “Real Food, Real Good Cookbook” and a super tasty Raspberry with Champagne Jam from Prince Edward Island Preserve Co. And all you have to do is follow the contest link below to enter.

For the in person experience, join us on the retreat as we’ll be partaking in Chef Michael’s famous farm to table FEAST at The Inn at Bay Fortune.

There are only a handful of spots left for the retreat this Aug 28-Sept 1. Summer will be over before you know it – take full advantage of yours and book a week with us surrounded by the beauty of Canada’s island paradise.

The “Rest of the Summer” Schedule and Amazing Subs!

It has been so lovely to be in town for much of this month! A big thank you to all of my students who have exercised such graceful yogic patience and compassion with my somewhat sporadic summer schedule. It has been incredible to share with you the beauty and strength building yang classes of late. Let’s continue to soak up the dazzling rays of summer sun and take our practice off the mats and into the parks, onto the beaches – reaching our arms to the sun and sky and feeling the earth beneath our feet.

I will be away from all of my classes next week, August 19-22. There are also a few dates in September where I will be away as I make my annual pilgrimage to my spiritual home, Joshua Tree in California for Bhaktifest 2013.
